Keeping airports moving smoothly
Mego works with several UK airports to support the main operators and partners across a variety of roles. Since airports are subject to significant seasonal swings in workforce, using a recruitment partner like Mego gives a high degree of convenience and flexibility to a streamlined operation like an airport.
Mego has worked with Bristol Airport for over 19 years, and has developed a close relationship with the senior operational and HR teams for the airport and with their business partners. The embedded nature of our work means that we have a office on site with a permanent team of staff based at the airport managing a large team of temporary staff working in roles as diverse as valet parking drivers, passenger hosts or in security. We have run the Silver Zone valet parking contract at Bristol Airport for many years, working closely with the airport team to ensure passengers can move easily through the car park and into the terminals.
Drivers
For many people, arriving at the airport car park is the very start of their airport experience so we want it to be as easy for them as possible. From arriving at Silver Zone, checking in their car and dropping off the keys, right through to arriving at the terminal, Mego staff are on hand to move cars and wish them a safe journey. And of course, on their return, our drivers make sure that their car is ready for them to collect so they can get home as quickly as possible.
Key Drop-off
The airport has moved to automated check in and key drop-off in the Silver Zone terminal. Our Passenger Hosts are on hand to assist passengers and to guide them through the process if needed. When large numbers of passengers are arriving or departing, our hosts are on hand to keep the terminals working and to help passengers feel welcomed.
Specialist Vehicle Drivers
Airports are usually about the aeroplanes but there are a lot of other vehicles too! Mego drivers can be found driving the free buses transferring passengers between Silver Zone and the terminal, on larger vehicles moving staff around the parking areas and on the apron itself, driving the tugs that pull aircraft.
Passenger Hosts
Once passengers arrive inside the terminal, Mego guest hosts will be on hand to guide passengers to the correct lines and through security. Our hosts present a helpful and cheerful face to passengers, along with directions and information that will assist passengers through the terminal and onwards with their journeys. They also assist with the security processes, helping passengers get ready for the screening of their hand luggage or helping them with the e-gates.
Passenger Services
Mego staff are part of the passenger services team. They may be assisting with Special Assistance requirements, helping passengers with little or no mobility through the terminal and onto their flights.
Passenger Survey Staff
Our Hosts help monitor the levels of passenger satisfaction by inviting departing passengers to take part in a Civil Aviation Authority survey on their experience at the airport. Our Hosts have an excellent track record in passenger involvement, all of which provides constructive feedback to the airport management teams.
